Pakistan Loses The Match Against New Zealand?

Pakistan’s opening batter, Fakhar Zaman, scored 24 runs before being clean bowled by Bracewell. In the previous over, he got a lifeline when Devon Conway dropped a catch off Glenn Phillips’ delivery, but Bracewell claimed him in the very next over.

In the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand’s bowling has completely turned the tide against Pakistan. What started as a modest total has now become a daunting challenge. Pakistan’s score currently stands at 193 runs in 111 balls, with the team having lost 5 wickets.

Tayyab was dismissed at 96 balls, and the fall of Babar Azam has further dented Pakistan’s hopes. With 168 runs needed at a run rate of 10.5, the chances of a win have nearly evaporated—there’s less than a 1% chance of a comeback. Even Salman Agha, who had been supporting the innings, is no longer at the crease.

With key batsmen out and a steep scoring rate required, Pakistan’s struggle continues as New Zealand looks set to secure the victory.
