How to Share Your Location on WhatsApp

To share your location on WhatsApp you can click on “+” or paperclip icon by the chat of this person. The process of sharing live or current location is so simple & easy.

How to Share Your Current Location:

1. Open WhatsApp: Go to the chat (individual or group) where you want to share your location.
2. Access the Location Option:
   • For iPhone: Click on the “+” icon at the bottom left of the screen.
   • For Android: Tap the paperclip icon next to the message box.
3. Select Location: From the menu, choose “Location”.
4. Send Current Location: Tap “Send Your Current Location” This shares your exact spot on the map at that moment.

How to Share Your Live Location:

1. Open the Chat:
   • Where do you want to send your live location?
2. Choose Location:
   • Tap the location option from the menu.
3. Select Live Location:
   • Choose “Share Live Location” to enable real-time tracking.
4. Set Duration:
   • 15 minutes
   • 1 hour
   • 8 hours
5. Confirm and Send:
   • Tap “Continue” if a prompt appears, then hit “Send”.

Additional Location Sharing Options:

1. Search for a Place:
   • If you prefer, you can manually search for a specific location or enter an address instead of sharing your current position.
2. Location Access Permissions:
   • If it’s your first time using location sharing, WhatsApp may ask for permission to access your device’s location. Choose one of the following:
   • “Allow only while using the app”
   • “Allow all the time”
   • “Ask every time”
