Donald Trump Said Thanks To Pakistan On Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for the arrest of a terror suspect, though he did not mention the individual’s name. During his address to Congress, Trump recalled that three and a half years ago, ISIS killed 13 Americans in Afghanistan. He harshly criticized the U.S. troop withdrawal under President Biden, calling it a national disgrace. Trump added, “I am pleased to announce that a key figure behind terrorism in Afghanistan has been captured.”
In his speech, Trump extended special thanks to Pakistan for assisting in the arrest of the suspect. He further revealed that the terrorist responsible for killing Americans in Afghanistan is being brought to the U.S., where he will face justice.
The 2021 terrorist attack during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 13 American troops and 170 Afghan civilians. The attack took place at Kabul Airport, where thousands of people had gathered to evacuate Afghanistan. The death of U.S. soldiers caused significant embarrassment for Washington at the time.
According to American media reports, Trump instructed CIA Director John Ratcliffe to prioritize capturing those responsible for the terrorist attack at Kabul Airport’s Abbey Gate immediately after taking office. Following this directive, the CIA Director raised the issue with senior Pakistani intelligence officials on his second day in office.
Additionally, during the Munich Security Conference in February, a high-ranking Pakistani security official was also engaged in discussions about the case. Reports further state that FBI Director Kash Patel also contacted Pakistani authorities regarding the matter.
Reports indicate that Mohammad Sharifullah, a key ISIS leader, is allegedly one of the masterminds behind the Kabul Airport terrorist attack. A U.S. official claimed that Sharifullah was the primary planner of the attack and is also known by the alias ‘Jafar’.
