Pakistani Currency Redesign New Notes Release Date 2025
Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Jameel Ahmed, recently stated in a press conference that they are in progress to change the design of all currency notes in Pakistan. He mentioned that an application has been submitted to the cabinet of Government of Pakistan for the approval, and it is expected that the currency design changes will be implemented from or just after June 2025.
He further explained that the designs of all currency notes will not be changed all at once but will be updated gradually over time. However, it has not yet been announced which currency note design will be changed first.
A few days before the Governor’s statement, Security Paper Limited also mentioned that new machines are required to print the new currency notes, as they will include advanced security features. However, these machines have not been bought yet.
This suggests that the release of the new design currency notes could face further delays.
