PTA Announced 5G Launch Date In Pakistan

PTA has officially announced the launch date for the 5G spectrum auction. On February 17, 2025, Chairman PTA, Major General (Retd.) Hafeez Ur Rehman, stated during a conference that the 5G spectrum auction is scheduled to take place in April or May 2025.

They mentioned this during a ceremony where Malaysian telecom officials were also present. Speaking further, they said that there has already been a delay in the launch of 5G in Pakistan in the past, and now we will not waste any more time. Malaysia has already transitioned to 5.5G, and we will learn from their experiences, which will help us in launching our 5G.
