SKYPE Is No More! Confirmed By Microsoft

The owner of Skype, Microsoft, has officially announced that Skype will shut down on May 5, 2025. Skype, a revolutionary force in the world of technology, is now going to say goodbye to the digital landscape. Microsoft has also recommended all users to transition to Microsoft Teams.
Skype was developed in 2003 by Scandinavian entrepreneurs Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis in Estonia. By offering free voice calls between computers and affordable calling options for landlines and mobile phones, Skype transformed internet communication and set new standards in digital connectivity.
Microsoft stated that the decision to shut down Skype and migrate users to Microsoft Teams is aimed at refining the quality of service. Additionally, Microsoft Teams offers more advanced and user-friendly features compared to Skype, which will prove highly beneficial for users.
